DVDFab 10 Review|The All-in-One Multimedia Backup Solution at Its Best Version

To those who own large volumes of DVD and Blu-ray discs at home, DVDFab shouldn’t be anything new, except for the new version that I’m going to mention here. I’m not an earlier fan of DVDFab, but after messing around for several years with quite a few similar products including both freeware’s, such as HandBrake and Imgburn, and shareware’s like AnyDVD HD, and VSO etc. I finally started to use it since version 7 back in the year of 2010, back then, DVDFab already made itself quite known among movie lovers, as it hit the recommendation lists of several of my friends.

Now it’s been almost 7 years, and during these years I’ve watched this software build its worldwide reputation. Fengtao Software continued to surprise me each time they released a major upgrade. From DVDFab 7 to DVDFab 8, then to DVDFab 9 and now the reinvented DVDFab 10, this company has been keeping its words to improve its products constantly, and in the meantime bring new features and technologies as promised. Honestly, I don’t see any other competitors so dedicated to their customers, maybe this is the only reason why DVDFab is the only leading contender in this field.
Now let’s give more time to the all-new DVDFab 10. I have to admit, “The best DVDFab since DVDFab,” the eye-catching promotion slogan I found from its official site, is not just some kind of marketing ploy, it is the most appropriate word to describe the new upgrade, from all aspects. I can’t wait to get going with my feelings.
Graphic User Interface Gets Better Optimized

Compared with version 8 and version 9, the redesigned graphic user interface of DVDFab 10 looks just amazing. All the buttons, tabs, and menus are relocated in the way users will feel most comfortable with. The left panel in version 8 and version 9 is now totally gone, and users get a vast space to operate on the DVD, Blu-ray or video to be processed. In the Copy module, the copy mode switcher is now located near the top left corner, right under the DVDFab logo, and the advanced settings panel is available by clicking the wrench icon right behind the movie title you are operating on. Similarly, in the Ripper and Converter modules, the copy mode switcher is replaced by the conversion profile switcher, the advanced settings panel, and the video effect settings panel are now can be called up via the wrench and pencil icons respectively.
The biggest change comes from the Creator module, unlike version 9 where users have to click the next button again and again in order to proceed with each setting, now in DVDFab 10, by clicking the wrench icon behind the “My DVD/Blu-ray” title, users are able to customize every detailed setting as they want. In a word, operations are getting easier than before.

The GUI in the Copy module

Different Modules Now Work Side by Side at the Same Time
To be frank, in both version 8 and version 9, to get the copy, ripper, converter and creator to work at the same time is almost next to impossible, unless users allow DVDFab to run multiple instances at the common settings panel. However, by enabling that option, it means each time users open a new instance, there will be a new entry of DVDFab appears in the process column of the computer’s task manager window.

The side effect of this is that more RAM and computing resource of your computer are taken so that the software becomes more vulnerable in terms of stability. But with the newly released DVDFab 10, this problem has been addressed, as the developers totally revamped the task managing logic, based on much more stable software architecture and framework. I ran my own tests by converting one of my DVDs in the Ripper module, and at the same time, making a Main Movie ISO backup of that same DVD, plus a video conversion task in the converter module, and a video in the Creator module that I want to make a DVD.

To my surprise, the software runs perfectly without any issue, I can at the anytime pause, resume and even cancel a task, then the software will by default pick up the next one to process. I can even reload a canceled task from the Archived Task list with my own personal settings I have chosen last time. This is really a sweet feature.
Much Faster Decryption Speed yet Excellent Output Quality
Back in version 8 and version 9, it will take from 2 to 3 minutes to decrypt a DVD or Blu-ray disc. Good news is that with DVDFab 10, the average decryption time on DVDs is insanely decreased to around 10 seconds. Think of opening a disc with a blink of eye, doesn’t it sound amazing? Thanks to its newly Cloud Decryption Service that makes this blazing fast decryption happen. Although the real speed may vary from your actual internet speed, considering the reality that it is cloud based, it throws the competitors far behind in this regard.
And on my old machine which runs only a Core i3 CPU, it only took me 10 minutes to finish copying the DVD main movie off the disc. Compared to the 20-30 minutes in version 8 and version 9 without could decryption feature, that’s an impressive improvement. Besides, when I played the ISO backup with my DVDFab Media Player, I cannot notice any slight difference between the backup and the original. I am again satisfied.
DVDFab Mini and DVDFab Remote Make Things More Interesting
While the competitors are still eating their old lunches, DVDFab is already thinking forward. By introducing the DVDFab Mini and DVDFab Remote, Fengtao Software brought us some real innovations here. Over the years, I have kept my eyes open on other similar products in this area, such as the SlySoft AnyDVD, Aiseesoft, VSO software and many others, none of them really make impressive features these years. But Fengtao Software never stops trying to make a dent, like the Cinavia removal solution introduced in version 9, and now the DVDFab Mini and DVDFab Remote in DVDFab 10.

DVDFab Mini is a simplified version of DVDFab 10, and it features only the very basic functions of the full version. Its core value is to make things much easier, to the minimal in terms of complexity. To copy or to convert a disc, now users only need to load that disc, and choose a copy mode or conversion profile, and then bang! Task already in progress! What makes this Mini version a real kicker is that the custom profiles users saved in the full version can be automatically imported here. This means, if you save a profile for the kid’s play iPad, then he can use DVDFab Mini on his own when you do not have time to help him convert a cartoon.
While the DVDFab Remote is totally another thing which extends DVDFab’s reach to the mobile devices, but only Android powered devices for the time being. The Remote app lets users do other chores in the house when they set DVDFab 10 to perform its own tasks alone. To test this handy app, I started my DVDFab 10 to convert the DVD I mentioned above to my Galaxy S6, and at the same time burn the main movie to a blank DVD. When all is ready, I left the room to prepare the lunch for the kids, keeping only the Galaxy S6 in my front pocket.
Several minutes later when I checked on my S6 screen, I saw the conversion task almost hit 90%, when it finally finishes, the burning task starts automatically, after about another 10 minutes, a push notification appears, telling me that I need to throw a blank DVD disc into the optical drive to continue the burning task. I then went back to the computer room and did as asked and then returned to my chores in the kitchen. This time DVDFab didn’t bother me again until I pulled the phone out of my pocket to check the task status — the burning task has already finished. After taking the burnt disc out from the computer, I directly threw it into my home DVD player. The playback was flawless.
Dress up Your DVDFab with Something Fancier
While being forward-thinking in technology, it looks like Fengtao Software finally agrees to embrace some of the ideas that might not be a real technical relevancy to backing up multimedia resources itself, other than giving people the plus option to do something fancier. Bringing in the skin changing is a good sign. As most of us probably would think, changing skin is not anything people cannot live with, especially with a productivity tool like DVDFab, so why not save the time for something that really matters? Microsoft never intends to let users change the skin how its Office suite looks like, right? However, with the thinking that people would be much happier to see this option in DVDFab 10, after all, it requires no rocket science to make it come true. And now we have it.

By clicking the T-shirt icon near the top right corner of the main interface, users are able to select their wanted skins from a group of pre-made ones, which they gave them some very fancy names, such as Life in a Bud, Light of Hope, Krypton Purple, Seeding Hope and Speed Force, etc. There is also an extra option to set the online poster of the DVD or Blu-ray disc currently being loaded in DVDFab 10 as the GUI background skin. But don’t worry, DVDFab 10 will find the proper poster all by itself.

DVDFab 10 Availability and Pricing
As usual, the all-new DVDFab 10 is totally free to the existing paid customers who still own legally purchased unexpired licenses of the previous generations, no matter DVDFab 9 or 8. To the new purchasers, DVDFab 10 is available at many options, because it is an all-in-one package made of multiple separate products. Users can either purchase what they need only, such as the DVD copy software, Blu-ray copy software, DVD ripper software or the Blu-ray ripper software, whatever it might be, or choose to order the all-in-one package that covers all the products inside the package.
They can also choose some other hot-selling bundles such as the DVD copy suite, Blu-ray copy suite, 3D video toolkit, etc. As to the license term, there are 1/2/3/4-year licenses and lifetime licenses to choose from. I personally recommend the lifetime edition, because you never know when you will need the products that you currently don’t think you need. The all-in-one lifetime only costs $299, and when it comes to the holiday period, you can also save a lot, usually up to 30%. For the detailed pricing terms, you can find relevant information from DVDFab official website at www.dvdfab.cn/order.htm

Final Words
Fengtao Software has been in the fields of DVD/Blu-ray copying, burning, ripping, converting, authoring and video conversion for more than a decade, with a reputation spanning all over the world. The company has been constantly bringing updates/upgrades to all of its software products, so you don’t have to worry about your investment because it can be totally trusted.
I even heard that they survived the war against the notorious AACS-LA in 2014 and continued to serve their customers at whatever cost, unlike SlySoft, after being cracked down by AACS-LA. It simply changed its name to RedFox and asked their loyal customers to re-buy their already-purchased products, even the lifetime ones which were supposed to enjoy lifetime technical service and free upgrades. For those who are interested, it’s not hard to find your way to the official website of Fengtao Software at www.dvdfab.cn, which is the only place where users can get the genuine software package.
